The long awaited fourth edition of the legendary international compilation will be in the stores by 28th september 2007. In the run-up, we wil see some record release events:

Fifteen years ago, the UNITED COLORS OF SKA compilation series has been created by Pork Pie. Bands from all over the world united one CD. What makes it really special is the fact, that all those bands have been devoted to a musical style, which had nothing to do with the musical culture of their country. In fact, some music originally coming from Jamaica has spread out successfully to all continents of the world and merged with the most different local influences. Reggae, ska, rocksteady or 2-tone from all over the world reconciled pretty well.

Since that time UNITED COLORS OF SKA goes into the fourth round. Long ago: the good old times of fax and snail mail - the internet makes the world shrink to the size of a tennis ball. WEb 2.0 and Myspace open up incredible possibilities to musicians, fans or labels to release and to communicate about music. So far the truism.

Talking about UNITED COLORS OF SKA 4.0, Pork Pie turns the tables: for the first time ever, the most interesting songs of 44 bands from 36 countries have been compiled on a double CD exclusively through reseach at Myspace Msuic. Nearly all the songs have either been recorded especially for this compilation, have previously only been available on vinyl or in poor download quality - a good Pork Pie tradition which has made the UNITED COLORS OF SKA series popular in the whole world as much as the Pork Pie SKA.. SKA.. SKANDAL series.

As diverse as the countries (Iran, Venezuela, Canada, Japan, Latvia or New Zeland) are the musical styles: traditional ska, rocksteady and early reggae vs. 2-Tone sound, third wave and ska punk.
CD 1 offers a style conciously set of oldschool-orientated boss sounds compiled by DJ BossK , CD 2 on the other hand represents the wide variety of modern styles.

UNITED COLORS OF SKA 4.0 comes up with 24 page color booklet and two CD's filled up to the brim with two and a half hours of music pleasure - at the price of just one single album.
